Dear Fellow Idahoans,

All of my life, I have been involved in service of one kind or another.  Hard work, honesty and integrity, strong Idaho values, and a drive to make life better for others and to "make a difference,"  have been the ingredients of my life since childhood.

In entering the campaign for the Senate, I offer a change from the status quo of "establishment politics" -- and dedication to facing and helping solve the challenges that face us as a state and as a nation.

Our representative government has become something other than "representative".  Many of those involved in government don't understand or appreciate the concerns of average people who work hard for a living,  raise a family, and to enjoy the freedom and liberty guaranteed to Americans.

They've stifled our freedom, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit through excessive controls and taxes.  They've implemented program-after-program that appear to be well-meaning that, in reality, have only expanded social engineering and have all but destroyed personal responsibility.

People have given up hope.  Many have lost faith and trust in our government.  I've heard it said again-and-again that "it doesn't matter what we think, they're going to do whatever they want anyway."  As a result, people don't participate in the political process, and, in ever-increasing numbers, are not casting their vote on election day.

The approval rating of Congress has reached all time lows -- and today, only about 11% of Americans approve of their activities.

It is time for a change.  I know that we hear that line in just about every election cycle.  However, change doesn't happen, because we go to the polls and re-elect the same people.  For whatever reason, we vote for the candidate that is the best looking or the one that has the most glitter in their campaign, rather than for those that may be offering real solutions, or for those that are running for something other than power or ego.

I believe I offer the kind of change you are looking for.  I'm not a wealthy person, an attorney, or a partisan crony.  I don't have the money to "buy" an elective office.  I've owned and operated a small family business, have worked in retail, and in a food processing plant.  I'm just one of the majority of Idahoans that struggle from day-to-day trying to make life better for my family and for others.

Please join with me in restoring truly representative government by supporting and voting for me to serve you in the United States Senate.  I pledge openness, hard work, and dedicated service.

All my best,

Please feel free to contact me with your questions, comments and concerns by email at Kent@MarmonForIdaho.com.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Your vote is yours, and yours alone.

It doesn't belong to any elected official or any party or its leaders.

You, and you alone, must decide what is best for you, your family, this state, and this nation.

Then, vote your beliefs and your convictions.

This is an "issue oriented" campaign... there are major differences between the self-and-media proclaimed front runner and me.  Please check it out!

We need to raise much needed funds for the campaign.  If you'd like to help, please send an email using the following link:

You DO Have a Choice... as well you Should!

It wasn't the intention of our Founders, as they drafted the Declaration of Independence, that our leaders should be "anointed."  That type of tyrannical rule was exactly what they fought against!

In an unprecedented move, several elected officials and Republican leaders joined in solidarity behind their hand-picked candidate for the U.S. Senate.

While it is customary for both elected leaders and party officials to stand behind their candidates in the General Election, the choice of who should appear on the ballot has been left to the people.

Their "anointing" of a particular candidate for the Primary violates your right to choose by attempting to limit entry into the race by other qualified candidates.

This action amounts to nothing more than a play to hold on to power.

Elected officials are the servants of the people -- and should not be making the decisions about who will go to work for them.

Between now and the General Election November 4, 2008, we encourage you to study the issues and candidates, and to make your choice based on your decision, not on those of others.

Kent's Core Values

Kent believes...

  • in private property ownership
  • in individual liberty and responsibility
  • in the ability of free enterprise to be controlled by natural economic forces (the marketplace)
  • in a limited federal government, as outlined by our founders in the Constitution
  • in protecting the rights and freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, Bill of Rights and its Amendments
  • in the ability of state and local leaders, who are closest to the people they represent, to be able to provide leadership and expertise in local transportation, education, and many other issues
  • we must protect our nation's sovereignty and security, while protecting our personal freedoms
  • we must defend and strengthen the traditional values of our families by allowing them the freedom to chart their own destiny through a decreased tax burden
  • in natural resource energy policies that protect water, and leave our environment safe and clean
  • that parents, teachers and local school officials should decide what and how our children should be taught
  • that we must work to re-structure our tax system so that it is no longer an instrument for social engineering, but a fair and equitable way to provide the necessary funds to operate the government and to support and maintain our nation's infrastructure
  • that we must support our military with the best equipment and training available in the world so they can continue to protect our freedom and liberty
  • that we must control government spending by passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment
  • that the government was created to serve the people, not the other way around
